Jim Beam Kentucky Fire Cinnamon Whiskey

Jim Beam Kentucky Fire
Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Infused with Cinnamon Liqueur
Kentucky, USA
70 Proof (35% Alcohol).
We've seen a huge increase in the number of flavored whiskeys the past two years!  Things that in the past would have been considered blasphemy in the whiskey world (like Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey) are now commonplace and still on the rise.  Well, here's another newcomer, Jim Beam Kentucky Fire!!!

Balls Vodka Review

Balls Vodka
Rochester, New York
80 Proof (40% Alcohol).

Looking back, I've reviewed quite a few vodkas here at Bob's Brew and Liquor Reviews (check them all out HERE). We've had everything from crazy and weird flavored vodkas to top-shelf $80 a bottle vodkas to $6 rotgut hobo-style vodkas.  But sometimes, it's nice to get back to basics.  Back to a high-quality straightforward vodka.  And that's what we have up for review today: Balls Vodka.

Country Maple Hush Moonshine

Country Maple Hush Moonshine
Grain Neutral Spirits with Natural Flavors
TerrePURE Spirits/Good Life Brands
South Carolina, USA
80 Proof (40% Alcohol)

Recently I posted a review of the Spiced Apple Hush Moonshine (yes, that's a link to the review, feel free to check it out!).  Which was surprisingly tasty and delicious, especially for a flavored moonshine (aka. unaged corn whiskey).  So, what do we have now??  Another one from Hush Moonshine!  This time we are reviewing the Country Maple Hush Moonshine.

Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Review

Rebel Yell
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Wheated Bourbon
Rebel Yell Distillery/Luxco
Louisville, Kentucky
80 Proof (40% Alcohol)

Many of the whiskeys I've reviewed here have for whatever reason been higher-end bourbons and scotches, including of course the annually impressive George T. Stagg bourbon.  But, that's not an everyday type of whiskey.  So, here we go, a cheap whiskey for today's review: Rebel Yell.

If where you're at is anything like where I'm at, then the weather has just started to cool down for Fall.  And thank goodness!  I love this time of year!  Cooler weather is perfect and, as usual, we get a whole onslaught of new beverages perfect for the season.  Case in point this new moonshine, Hush Spiced Apple Moonshine!

Strongbow Gold Apple Hard Cider

Strongbow Gold Apple
Hard Cider
Stassen/Bulmer's Cider Company
Belgium
5% Alcohol

There has been an absolute FLOOD of hard ciders hitting the shelves the past couple of years!  I'm not sure what has happened to cause the shift, but it's kind of a nice return to an older style (albeit updated and modernized for the new American palate) that was almost forgotten. The revival kind of reminds me of the return of straight blade razor shaving and pipe smoking, both of which are also refreshing to see making a comeback.  So for today, we have the new Strongbow Gold Apple Hard Cider up for review!

Amstel Radler Bier

Amstel Radler
Shandy-Style Fruit Beer
Amsterdam, Holland
2.0%

Americans tend to have a way of drinking unlike people in other parts of the world.  Whereas in many countries people can easily have a drink with lunch and a drink with dinner and be good, many Americans like to drink for other reasons (ie. to get drunk).  Case in point: shandy-style beers.  Today's review beer, Amstel Radler, is a new shandy-style fruit beer.

19 Crimes Red Wine

19 Crimes Red Wine
Southeastern Australia
2012 Vintage
Shiraz-Durif Red Blend

I must say, 19 Crimes has one of the coolest, most unique labels I've seen in quite awhile!!! Not only does it look very interesting, but it definitely catches your eye among the shelves lined with very similar looking labels.  The brand claims this is a picture of an actual criminal, which makes it even cooler.  But yeah anyway, this is the 19 Crimes Red Wine up for review today...

Hiram Walker Whiskey Mystery - Bob's Spiced Banana Boat Cocktail

Hiram Walker Whiskey Mystery
Entry with Recipe

Well, the good folks at Hiram Walker are back at it, this time with their Whiskey Mystery contest.  They're sending writers and reviewers mystery ingredients and asking them to create a cocktail!  When they contacted me, there's no way I could have said no!

I decided to do a twist on a White Russian cocktail.  So, here is mine...

Bob's Spiced Banana Boat Cocktail:

1.5 oz JP Wiser's Spiced Vanilla Whisky
1.5 oz Hiram Walker Creme de Banana
3 oz Heavy Cream or Half and Half
Large, delicious good size 3-5 second drizzle Chocolate Syrup

Mix together in a lowball glass with crushed ice.  Stir very well.
Enjoy! :)

Please drink responsibly.

Graffigna Centenario Elevation Red Blend Reserve

Graffigna Centenario Elevation
Red Blend Reserve
Vintage: 2012
San Juan, Argentina

It's no secret I'm a huge fan of wines from Argentina.  Probably a good third of the wines I've reviewed here on Bob's Brew and Liquor Reviews have been from Argentina.  Something about that place is magical... at least for wine making!

So for now, we're looking at reviewing a new wine from Graffigna, their 2012 Centenario Elevation Red Blend Reserve.
